NINTH CIRCUIT PRO BONO PROGRAM

The Ninth Circuit has a Pro Bono Program whereby pro se appeals that the Court deems need counsel are sent to the Program so that volunteer pro bono counsel can be appointed. The Court guarantees oral argument in these appeals to outside counsel. The cases range from immigration/asylum to habeas to prisoner § 1983 civil rights litigation. This is a valuable opportunity for counsel to gain federal appellate experience and oral argument time before a panel of judges in the Ninth Circuit.
