NINTH CIRCUIT PRO BONO PROGRAM

The Ninth Circuit has a Pro Bono Program whereby pro se appeals that the Court deems need counsel are sent to the Program so that volunteer pro bono counsel can be appointed. The Court guarantees oral argument in these appeals to outside counsel. The cases range from immigration/asylum to habeas to prisoner § 1983 civil rights litigation. This is a valuable opportunity for counsel to gain federal appellate experience and oral argument time before a panel of judges in the Ninth Circuit.

For more information on the Program, please visit the Ninth Circuit's Project description

If you are in the Central District of California and would like to sign up as a volunteer attorney and join the panels of attorneys already enlisted, please fill out this attorney sign-up form and send to Peter Afrasiabi, Volunteer District Coordinator c/o One LLP, 4000 MacArthur Blvd., Suite 1100, Newport Beach, CA 92660.
