Judge Alicemarie H. Stotler Award

The Judge Alicemarie H. Stotler Award is our chapter's highest honor. The award was named in tribute to the late Chief Judge Alicemarie H. Stotler, a hardworking trailblazer who served as an inspiration and role model to many lawyers in the Orange County community. During her illustrious career, Judge Stotler served as the first full time female deputy district attorney in the Orange County DA's office, as a judge on the Harbor Municipal Court and later the Orange County Superior Court. Appointed to the District Court bench by President Reagan in 1984, Judge Stotler served as Chief Judge of the Central District from 2005 to 2009.

Designed as a lifetime achievement award, it is meant to honor an individual in the Central District who (1) has had a particularly distinguished career in the law, and (2) has made extraordinary contributions to the Central District.

There is a permanent plaque in the attorney workroom at the Ronald Reagan Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse on the 10th Floor, Room 10073 that recognizes each of the recipients of the Judge Alicemarie H. Stotler Award.
